A handout picture dated and released 17 March 2009 by environmental group Greenpeace shows the rice terraces in Banaue, Ifugao province, northern Philippines. The Banaue Rice Terraces, a UNESCO Living Cultural Heritage site, was declared a geneticaly-modified organism (GMO) free zone which means that only traditional rice varieties will be planted in the area.
